Due to the long-term use of the belt conveyor in the production process, the conveyor belt will be stretched and some equipment failures will be caused. Therefore, please checked and adjusted before useing to ensure the safe operation of the conveyor equipment. The tension of the conveyor belt is generated by the tensioning device. When conveying inclined upwards, the belt’s own weight also generates initial tension.
In order to operate reliably, it is necessary to check before the operation to ensure that the belt tension is within a certain range. Pay attention to the following points when adjusting:
(1) For the first use, adjust the conveyor belt to proper strength, and the belt between two sets of adjacent rollers should not sag too much, so that the material will not roll off the belt conveyor after falling onto the conveyor belt.
(2) When adjusting the conveyor belt, consider the operation of the equipment after stretching. Avoid deviation of the conveyor belt. A deviation detection device can be installed, and an early warning will be given in case of deviation.
(3) Choose suitable conveyor belt.
(4) Adjust the position of the roller. Pay attention to the following points:
- The tensioning device of the belt conveyor should be closer to to driving pulley if the conveyor is with long distance and large capacity.
- For belt conveyors with a certain inclination angle, you can first consider adjusting the tension bolts at the head of the fuselage.
- For a horizontally placed fixed belt conveyor, the equipment needs to be installed before operation, then check whether the belt’s running track is offset.
- Conveyor belt deviation indicates that the tension of the conveyor belt may be large on one side and small on the other. The strength of the conveyor belt is not balanced. If you do not pay attention to adjusting the conveyor belt, it is easy to break or even tear. Therefore, align the centerlines of the conveyor body, head frame, and tail frame are in one line. Then adjust the locking bolts of the rollers, so that the tension on both sides of the conveyor belt is equal.
